Description

BlockTile Ramp Edges with Loops are designed to work as a transition from concrete or other hard surfaces to BlockTile 12″ x 12″ interlocking floor tiles.

There are two types of ramp edges for BLOCKTILE loop-to-peg interlocking floor tiles: “Ramp Edges with Loops” and “Ramp Edges without Loops.” The names refer to the loops on the long side of the ramp edge. Because the tiles are modular in nature, you have the option to select either type of edge for your installation. There is no right or wrong decision. However, depending on how you start your installation and the type of room in which you are installing the interlocking floor tiles, you may wish to consider selecting one versus the other.

“BlockTile Ramp Edges with Loops” are needed when the installation starting point is at the entrance or opening of the room being tiled (garage floor, patio floor, deck floor). This is because the floor tiles should be oriented so that the loops are pointing toward the back of the room and the opposite corner from where you are beginning.

Most garage floor installations use ramp edges only on the entrance of the garage in order for the vehicles to smoothly transition from the concrete driveway to the interlocking tile floor. This is recommended in order to extend the life of the interlocking tiles and to minimize the movement of the floating floor.

If you are creating a custom sized mat, you will need both types of ramp edges plus corners. Just remember that two adjacent sides of the garage floor mat will have loops and the other two sides will NOT have loops.

BLOCKTILE ramp edges may only be used with BLOCKTILE interlocking floor tiles. They will not interlock with any other brands. Due to differences resulting from various digital devices, please note that colors represented on your monitor may differ slightly from the actual interlocking floor tiles.
